Key Responsibilities

• Lead a class and work collaboratively with education, care and therapy professionals to meet the holistic needs of pupils
• Deliver high‑quality teaching in line with the school’s curriculum and Ambito’s strategic direction
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons informed by effective assessment and pupil progress tracking
• Implement group and individual education programmes, contributing to class and whole‑school curriculum development
• Ensure excellent standards of physical, emotional and personal care, including hygiene, health and safety
• Maintain high‑quality record keeping, planning, assessment and reporting
• Contribute to and attend pupil‑centred reviews, meetings and annual reviews
• Work in partnership with parents/guardians, external agencies and dual placements
• Support innovative use of technology to enhance communication and learning
• Promote a positive, safe and well‑maintained learning environment
• Ensure compliance with all safeguarding, quality, health and safety, and organisational policies
• Participate in staff training, professional development and knowledge sharing
• Support continuity of education during absences through effective planning
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by the Principal / Head of Education

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – DfE number required
• Degree‑level qualification
• Experience teaching pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
• Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures
• Ability to work effectively within a trans‑disciplinary team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong IT skills
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons aligned to the school curriculum
• Flexibility, resilience and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Empathy, sensitivity and compassion when working with pupils, families and colleagues

• Excellent attendance record
