Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week (Term Time only)
Start Date: October 2025 (January 2026 considered for the right candidate)
Salary: L7 – £54,816 (progressing to L8 – £59,167 upon successful probation)
Role Summary
The Head of School is accountable to the Principal for providing effective leadership and management of the Woodview Provision. This includes establishing a strong foundation for high standards across all areas of work. The post holder has delegated responsibility for educational staff and is expected to promote and embody the vision of Ingfield Manor School, ensuring every pupil is valued and given equal opportunity to grow and develop.
Role Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
Lead and oversee all staff within Woodview and serve on the Senior Leadership Team.
Delegate team management to teachers and ensure a safe learning and working environment.
Manage communications in line with OFSTED standards and build partnerships with external agencies.
Strategic Direction
Collaborate with the Principal and SLT to implement a shared vision for educational and personal development.
Use data to inform strategic planning and drive continuous improvement.
Teaching & Learning
Ensure high-quality teaching and a curriculum that meets diverse learner needs.
Monitor performance, set rigorous targets, and implement strategies to improve behaviour and raise standards.
Lead on inspection preparedness and staff professional development.
Professional Development & Culture
Build a respectful, high-expectation culture focused on continuous learning.
Support staff through induction, performance management, and mentorship.
Promote staff well-being and a balanced school climate.
Organisation & Management
Implement efficient systems and structures to support teaching and safety.
Oversee budgeting, staffing, resource use, and improvement planning.
Ensure compliance with curriculum and health & safety requirements.
Accountability & Evaluation
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous self-review.
Provide accurate performance reporting and work with governance to support school improvement.
Community & Collaboration
Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupil development.
Champion inclusion, diversity, and community involvement.
Contribute to the wider education community by sharing best practices.
Safeguarding
Ensure full compliance with KCSIE and all safeguarding responsibilities.
Maintain the Single Central Record and follow all child protection procedures.
