Our Salutem Supported Living East Region is recruiting!

Covering Kettering, Peterborough and Cambridge, we are seeking a Team Leader to oversee our teams providing care and support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. Providing as much or as little care as is needed, our supported living service gives the individuals we support the opportunity to live an independent lifestyle and the chance to develop and practice independent living skills.

The individuals we support include Mathew, who recently achieved his entry level certificate in Sailing! He’s a massive adrenaline junkie who loves going on all the rides at different theme parks and loves to end the day with a pint at the pub! Other individuals we support love to attend the local disco and dance the night away, throughout summer they love to fire up the BBQ and come together to enjoy delicious food and in winter love to go out in the snow!

About The Role

In order to be successful in this role, you are required to hold a full UK Drivers license and have access to your own vehicle. 

As a Team Leader you will assist the Registered Manager in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the home, this includes ensuring that the needs of the service users are met, managing the staff team, monitoring the quality of care and support, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with external regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Registered Manager, the post holder will work to ensure that specialist and quality care and support for service users is maintained through assisting in the planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of service user care and support. The Team Leader's will also be required to ensure that policies, procedures, systems and workplace practices are fully implemented and consistently applied.

You will be passionate about motivating and empowering your team and encouraging their development. You will also be an inspiring role model, leading by example, imparting knowledge, championing best practice and promoting new thinking, enabling the team to help the people we support to make choices and decisions, live each day to the fullest and develop life skills along the way.

We are looking for a highly motivated team member who will either have or be working towards NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care level 3/5. Experience of working with individuals with communication difficulties is desirable. A sound working knowledge and understanding of CQC Regulations and Standards, the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Standards is also desirable.

The successful candidate will need to show a high level of commitment and flexibility in the role and be able to work closely with the Registered Manager and staff team to ensure the very best outcomes are achieved for the individuals residing at Ashleigh House. 

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Demonstrate written communication skills, sufficient to contribute to a record keeping system.
  • Be able to demonstrate a warm, person centred and affirmative approach to the individuals we support.
  • Be able to remain compassionate, and professional during challenging times.
  • Be willing to work alongside clinical professionals
  • Be open to new ideas and ways of working.
  • Lead and delegate appropriately when on shifts.
  • Complete regular staff supervisions.
  • Be a positive role model in all aspects of our daily work life
  • Assist an individual when in crisis to manage their behaviours
