Role Overview:

As a Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead, you will , you will be responsible for two integral elements of the school; safeguarding and familyliaison.
You will take lead on safeguarding, implementing the school’s Safeguarding Policy and all othersafeguarding processes and procedures. This will include contributing to effective partnership workingbetween all those involved with providing safeguarding services for children. As the DSL you willalso provide day to day advice and guidance to school staff to enable them to support pupilseffectively.
In addition you will work directly alongside the Senior Leadership Team when concerns require escalating to external authorities and providing support to the children, families and staffteam.
You will also lead on family liaison. Your duties will include supporting pupils from the very start oftheir journey, supporting the initial assessment process and ensuring a smooth and supportivetransition to their new school. You will maintain open communication and a cohesive approachbetween home and school for both therapy and education as well as co-ordinating multi-disciplinaryteams to develop a bespoke package of support for each individual.The purpose of the Designated Safeguarding and Pastoral Lead will ensure effectivecommunication between every stakeholder involved in supporting the pupils at Craig y Parc and thatall pupils’ statemented needs are met.
This role will be 8.30am- 4.30pm during term time, alongside 10 days throughout school holidays to ensure family support and ensure all updates for children in need are sought prior to their return to school.

The Right Person for the Role Will Have:
- Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ALN, SLD/PMLD, ADHD and ASD
- Experience working within a designated safeguarding role, including processing safeguarding concerns
- Experience leading and co-ordinating multi-disciplinary teams
- GCSE in English and mathematics or equivalent
